Challah bread adds a wonderful, rich egg flavor to this traditional bread pudding.

DIRECTIONS

  1. PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees F. Oil an 8x8 inch baking dish. Set aside.

  2. PLACE bread in the baking dish. Sprinkle raisins and walnuts on top.

  3. MIX remaining ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Pour over bread. Lightly push bread down with a fork and let stand for 10 minutes.

  4. BAKE 25-30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Serving size: about ¾ cup

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
